Animals are now my life since my children have left home. I always wanted a dog when I was a child, however my parents did not like dogs so I had to be content with a budgie. When David and I got together we decided we would have dogs when the time was right. A Sunday afternoon trip to Wood Green Animal Shelter with a friend who was looking to adopt a dog resulted in us getting Benji and Samuel our golden oldies. Benji became very much a ‘mummy's’ boy and never left my side, the day he died broke my heart and I still get upset when I think about it, I was grateful I was with him until the end.

I love showing the dogs and just being with them, and at the moment I mainly show Bentley.

I have had dogs for many years but I had to forgo the pleasure when Wendy and I got together. We both had full time jobs and I worked away from home quite often. However circumstances changed - yes we had kids so we were able to have dogs once the kids were old enough to realise the responsiblities in owning dogs. We started out having rescue dogs from Wood Green Animal Shelter and we never looked back!

I have taken the various qualifications to become a judge. These include the Rules and Regulations of a Show Judge, Confirmation and Movement, Points of a Dog, Hands on with Cocker Spaniels and Hands on with American Cocker Spaniels. I have been given the privilage of a Judging appointments.

I am the Treasurer for the Home Counties American Cocker Club ans although this is a challenging role I enjoy being involved in the breed. I am on their Judging 'C' list.

I also enjoy handling dogs which include our D'arcy and Rylee. I have also handled for other people with breeds including Cocker Spaniels, American Cocker Spaniels and Goldern Retrievers.
